The Church of Lippe has set up a legal aid fund for refugees. From this in special individual cases subsidies can be paid for lawyer costs of refugees.

This can be important, for example, if an asylum application has been rejected by the BAMF (Bundesamt für Migration und Flüchtlinge) and an appeal is to be filed with the responsible court. Refugees have to pay their lawyer's fees and any court costs themselves, which is often very difficult. In special hardships an application can be made to the legal aid fund of the Church of Lippe.

To apply please go to one of the diaconical refugee counceling organisations (Beratungsstellen) in Lippe, through whom the application must run.
